St. Mary’s Secondary School is delighted to congratulate Sixth Year student Kate Heffernan who received the Mercy Award today.
This special award is presented annually by the Sisters of Mercy to a Leaving Certificate student who best embodies the Mercy virtues of service, compassion, and charity. What makes this honour particularly meaningful is that Kate was nominated by both her fellow students and staff, recognising the respect and admiration she has earned throughout her time in St. Mary’s.
The presentation took place following Mass for the Opening of the School Year and in celebration of Mercy Day. Sr Attracta warmly congratulated Kate before presenting her with the award.
The Mercy Award is one of the most cherished traditions in our school, connecting us to the vision and values of Catherine McAuley and the founding Sisters of Mercy. We are immensely proud of Kate for living out these values in her daily school life and beyond.
Congratulations once again to Kate on this well-deserved recognition.
