Mayo Regional Council of Schools
Four of our student council members attend the online meeting of the Mayo Regional Council of Schools on Thursday November 27th.
Amelhyne O'Regan-Farineau gave the following report: In the meeting, we spoke about the propose of the ISSC and the work it does for students nation wide. We then debated a motion 'It will be mandatory for teachers to supervise extra curriculum activities after school hours unpaid during the Covid pandemic'. We came to the conclusion that teachers should be encouraged to supervise extra curricular activities they are interested in, unpaid. We then spoke about students mental health. We agreed this isn't a topic largely discussed and more should be done to promote and encourage the talk of mental health issues amongst students and teachers.
