Transition Year Musical: 4Ever in Blue Jeans

St. Mary’s Secondary School is delighted to present this year’s Transition Year musical, 4Ever in Blue Jeans, a brand-new stage production that promises music, memories, dance and drama in equal measure.

The show will take place on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th February at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are available from the school office on 096 70333.

An 80-strong Transition Year cast is spear-heading this exciting new production, ably assisted by the Second and Fifth Year Chorus Line. In addition, the cast will perform an exclusive matinee performance on Wednesday, 11th February, for invited guests.

Set in Queens, New York City, and spanning over a decade, 4Ever in Blue Jeans tells the story of Jess Jackson and Brad Miller. When we first meet Jess, she is enjoying the heady days of the electric 1980s. Fast forward ten years, however, and life looks very different. Jess is now a newspaper reporter with The Daily Record in downtown NYC. Never without her trusty denim jacket — and her brand-new accessory, a mobile phone — she lives very much in the present. But when one unexpected message catapults her back into her past, Jess is forced to ask some difficult questions… this time, of herself.

Meanwhile, Brad Miller is flying high. His old guitar is gone, his jeans replaced by chinos, and he is preparing to embrace high-society life alongside his well-to-do fiancée, Cynthia.

As Jess and Brad move in very different directions — and social circles — a piece of big news brings them back together. Can they accept the people they have become, or are the echoes of the old rock ’n’ roll days back in Sunnyside, Queens, too loud to ignore?

4Ever in Blue Jeans is a story of hope, heartbreak, rebellion and romance, and of the sparks that fly when the past and present collide.
Prepare yourself for a night of brilliance — and maybe a little bit of the blues! 🎶💙
