Wellread National Award’ for St. Mary's Secondary School

St. Mary’s Secondary School was delighted to receive the Wellread National Award at a special ceremony in Portlaoise on 15 April. This prestigious award recognises the school's commitment to promoting a love of reading for pleasure among students, staff, parents and the wider community.

The Wellread Award acknowledges the wide range of reading initiatives and events organised both inside and outside the classroom, all of which encourage a lifelong enjoyment of books and reading. From whole-school reading activities to library projects and community engagement, St. Mary’s continues to place literacy and reading at the heart of school life.

The school is immensely proud to receive this national recognition and would like to thank everyone who has contributed to making reading such a vibrant part of the St. Mary’s community. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to inspire a love of reading in the years ahead.
