Each year, the PE Department organises a lunchtime Pella League for junior students, providing an exciting opportunity to stay active, develop Gaelic football skills and enjoy some friendly competition.
Pella is a fast-paced indoor version of Gaelic football, played in the PE Hall using modified rules that emphasise teamwork, movement and skill development. It is an inclusive sport that allows students of all abilities to participate in a fun and supportive environment.
The league has become one of the most popular lunchtime activities in the school, with over 80 junior students taking part this year. Matches are played throughout the term, creating a fantastic atmosphere of school spirit, teamwork and healthy competition.
The Pella League is a great example of St. Mary’s commitment to providing students with a wide range of opportunities to be active, build friendships and enjoy sport beyond the classroom.
