Our Additional Educational Needs (AEN) provision is centred on identifying students' strengths, recognising barriers to learning and providing the appropriate supports to enable every student to participate fully in school life. Through a collaborative approach involving students, parents, teachers and external agencies where appropriate, we strive to ensure that each student receives the support she needs to succeed academically, socially and personally.
Our approach is guided by the Department of Education's Continuum of Support, ensuring that supports are flexible, responsive and tailored to individual needs. These may include classroom-based strategies, small-group interventions, learning support, assistive technology, sensory supports, Special Education Teaching (SET), Special Needs Assistant (SNA) support and personalised learning plans where required.
