A Board of Management is elected every three years for St. Mary’s Secondary school. The Trustees of the school – CEIST nominate four representatives with the Chairperson coming from this quartet. Teachers nominate two representatives. The remaining two members are elected after a ballot of the parents of students in the school. The Principal of the school acts as Secretary to the Board. Meetings take place as required – usually about once per term. Full training is provided for members of the Board who all act in a voluntary capacity and without remuneration.
