Class Tutors

Every class at St. Mary's Secondary School is assigned a dedicated Class Tutor who plays an important role in supporting students throughout the school year.

Our Class Tutors work to build positive relationships with each student, creating a welcoming and caring classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected and encouraged to achieve their best.

As part of our Student Support Team, Class Tutors monitor students' academic progress, attendance, engagement and overall wellbeing. They are often the first point of contact for students within their class group, offering guidance, encouragement and practical support whenever it is needed.

Class Tutors work closely with subject teachers to identify and address any difficulties a student may be experiencing, helping to ensure that appropriate supports are put in place at an early stage. They also maintain regular communication with Year Heads and senior management, working collaboratively to promote each student's personal, social and academic development.

At St. Mary's, our Class Tutors are committed to helping every student feel connected, supported and empowered to reach their full potential within a positive and inclusive school community.
