Last year we held our 10th annual tournament in memory of our esteemed colleague Helen Tighe who passed away suddenly in November 2009. Helen coached basketball teams in Saint Mary’s for many years and guided the school to All Ireland glory during her tenure here.
Each year our first year girls compete in an inter class competition to win the Helen Tighe memorial cup. Helen’s husband Noel presents the cup to the winning captain annually.
